Hey, anyone knows how to optimize a mesh? Here's the problem: You
start with a set of triangles, and you KNOW that lots of them can
be merged, because they are in the same plane, and together they
would still be convex. Here's how I want to do it: Calculate a
winged edge structure, and do the convexity and equal plane tests
on both sides of the winged edges. Problem is: How do I determine
a winged edge structure FAST? So far, the only way I could come
up with requires O((n^2)/2) processing time... And that's a lot,
even for 1700 polygons (my test scene). O well, back to VC...
