The Wilson Center announced a workshop they've organized on "Serious Games." Here's a snippet from the press release:

"WASHINGTON-The Foresight and Governance Project of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars will host a workshop to explore how the management and performance of three sectors - hospitals, high schools, and parks - can be improved using game-based simulation learning and training technologies. "Serious Games" will be held on February 5 and 6, 2003 at the Wilson Center in Washington, D.C. The workshop, made possible through support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, is being organized with Digitalmill, a development firm responsible for the Virtual U project www.virtual-u.org, a game-based simulation of university management."
