VectorC 1.1.1 Release
CodePlay released version 1.1.1 of VectorC, now with a new interactive optimizer. VectorC is a C compiler for Windows. According to the web site, "Its unique feature is its ability to automatically vectorize standard C code to take advantage of the latest microprocessor features." Here's a clip from the press release on v1.1.1:
VectorC - the advanced vectorizing C Compiler developed by CodePlay -
has been updated with improved optimizations and an easy to use
graphical user interface. Games programmers who saw VectorC in action at
the recent ECTS show in London were very impressed by its capabilities.
The Interactive Optimizer is a new program that makes it easier to take advantage of VectorC's powerful optimization abilities. By showing the assembly language produced by the compiler with different optimizations applied, programmers can quickly see what VectorC has been able to achieve. "
