Voodoo Extreme just put up the 3rd installment of their reader submitted question-and-answer session with Epic's Tim Sweeney. This time Ask Tim Sweeney covers topics ranging from project planning, vertex details, and programming languages. Here's a ripe bit:

" The trick is to break down your super-huge problem into a bunch of simpler steps which you can figure out as you go. And don't be afraid to try an idea and fail; it's ok to throw out code and start over with a better approach. In fact, that is essential on a large project -- over 50% of the code I wrote for Unreal 1, I threw out and rewrote (much better) during the course of the project. "
