Here's a press release that I received about VectorC by CodePlay, a new Windows C compiler:

" New Compiler Technology Available for Games Developers.

Newly established CodePlay Limited has just made available a beta test version of VectorC. The test compiler can be downloaded for free from CodePlay's web site:

VectorC is the first compiler written by games developers for games developers. Its most significant feature is its ability to vectorize normal C source code to produce games that take full advantage of MMX, AMD 3D Now! and Intel Streaming SIMD Extensions.

VectorC is a highly optimizing C compiler for Windows PCs.

Company spokesperson Andrew Richards, a professional games developer of 10 years standing, says "I got fed up using compilers not designed specifically for games developers. That's why we developed VectorC's advanced optimizer without compromise." "
