Verant Interactive, developer of Everquest, has recently opened a studio in St. Louis headed by John W. Ratcliff, a long time game developer in the industry. Verant is currently building a team of exceptional artists and programmers to assist in the creation of a massively multiplayer online game. Programmers should have a strong background in object oriented design and methodology using C++ and STL. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate expertise in tools development, real-time 3d graphics, physics, simulation, real-time database systems, networking, collision detection, artificial intelligence, and graphic effects. Additionally looking for developers expert in MIPS assembly language on the Sony Playstation and can take a leadership role on a Playstation 2 product. Developers should have at least 2 years of professional experience in the game industry, preferably having been involved with the creation of at least one shipping product. Candidates should have a strong work ethic and be willing to work in a supportive team environment.
Artists should have exceptional talent and creativity and be able to demonstrate expertise in 3d modeling, texturing, and animation. The offices of Verant Interactive are located in Lake St. Louis, Missouri, a resort community on a 550 acre private lake.
