Game Programming Gems

I received the following which may interest many of you:

" My name is Mark DeLoura, I'm software engineering lead at Nintendo. I'm currently working with Charles River Media to produce the book "Game Programming Gems". You may be familiar with the "Graphics Gems" series of books currently available. GPG is a book which follows in their tradition. It will be written by a collaboration of expert game programmers, and packed with practical information for other game programmers working in the industry.

I invite you to consider submitting Gem proposals for Game Programming Gems. If you're not familiar with the Graphics Gems series, each volume contains around 50-100 short technical articles (Gems) submitted by expert programmers who work doing graphics programming. So the kind of information you find in Graphics Gems is very practical, useable material for anyone doing graphics programming. Game Programming Gems will be very similar, but designed for working game programmers.

In other words, as far as graphics goes, multitexturing and frame- rate optimization methods are very appropriate topics. :-) Of course, AI, audio programming, camera control, schedulers, and other game-only algorithms will also be included.

Please drop by the book's website at http://www.satori.org/gamegems to learn more about Game Programming Gems. I have a good number of authors already committed to the project, but I'm looking for many more! The more proposals, the better the final book will be. I hope you will consider submitting your own Gem for Game Programming Gems. "
