Mike Dussault Interview
Voodoo Extreme posted an interview with Mike Dussault of Monolith, tech lead on the Lithtech Engine. Here's a taste:
VE: What is the coolest feature about LithTech?
MD: There are two aspects to this - the coolest technical feature and the coolest thing about LithTech. In my opinion, the coolest technical feature is our terrain. We're still not done with it but it already looks awesome. Terrain is something we've always wanted our engine to do well because we believe that very large outdoor areas allow for types of gameplay currently not possible on PCs.
The coolest _thing_ about LithTech is a direct result of Monolith's size. So many talented people are using LithTech internally or adding onto it for their game that it is being expanded upon at a very rapid pace. Everything from UI libraries to the underlying core of the engine is being strengthened on a continual basis. The quality difference between LithTech1 and LithTech2 is staggering, and I think that's because of the love the engine gets from everyone in the company. "
