This is a screenshot from my particle system editor i have developed for a small racing game. To the system itself: It supports point, box, cylinder and sphere emitters. Emitters pulse periodically since their isn't set up an emission variance. Emission rate is the number of particles to be created in one second. You can apply modificators on the particles by clicking the check boxes. The more modificators are enabled the slower the system gets. It is also possible to add new custom modificators to the system. I use DX for rendering. The yellow box you see is the system's AABB.
