Image Description, by Felix Weiler

Here's a screenshot of our project called "Crimson Steel". It's a Fantasy-Beat'em up with pre-rendered graphics. It has a RPG-like character system (skill improvements, etc.) and several campaigns for the two races (Dwarves & men). Furthermore, there is a thrilling arcade mode (single and multiplayer). The game will probably be published in germany soon.

Our homepage: www.virtual-threat.de (german)

Greetings,
Felix Weiler

Looks great, very nice artwork aswell.

I looked on the webpage too and was impressed by the screenshots there.
You might want to try to add object shading or something on the characters. They apear to be "pasted on" the landscape instead of actually being in the landscape (see for example the screenshot with the fog and the two characters fighting etc.).

But it still looks great if you keep it this way. :)

Looks great! Almost like real-life miniatures.

That's some nice art! It looks a bit like Diabolo, only ... friendlier :)

The characters seem to float above the background a bit. How about adding some shadow to create depth? This means you'll need some information about the slope of the background to do it correcly...

Keep up!

nice one, it looks like the backgrounds were modelled out of clay and not computer graphics, sweet one bay. hey is everyone now starting to do the billboarded mist/clouds effect i thought i was the only one, bugger :).
the tree looks to have a very high polycount. my only complaint though (like others) is that theres no shadows for the ppl.

The tree Looks to have a high polygon count, because it probably did when it was originally pre-rendered ;). It's pre-rendered graphics, you can use as many polygons as you want, and absolutely no speed decrease :).

Ah, Golden Axe...

Down at the back shop, near the bus station, before / after school. Those were the days...dreaming of writing video games...ah.

Double Dragon, Shinobi, Street Fighter, Cabal, Rambo, SuperMan, Commando, Stryker, Bubble Bubble, Raidan...

These are the games i grew up with...

BTW. This shot looks really cool, the game should be a blast! Enjoy.

Hi all !
Thanks for the feedback, that's the thing that keeps us working.

PS: The Virtual-Threat Homepage will look better soon. We just had no time to get on with it, yet.
