Image Description, by Marc Schneider

The image shows the 3D-Portal-Engine for OpenGL. You see a 3DS mesh which is animated through a VUE animation file ( 3D Studio MAX format ! ). You can walk through the level and see how the portals are working.

Hope you still read messages here :-)

I wonder what your target system might be. 228 triangles is not very much although I guess these are only the visible triangles. 59 fps for 228 triangles is not fast as well although this might be limited by your monitor refresh rate.
I read some stuff on portals but I can't remember having read about "cells". Please somebody explain :-)

Great work so far! I like the animation, is hard to import that sort of stuff? I'm playing around with Poser am very interested in character animation.

By the way, interesting collision detection. How come it sometimes fails?
