Wow, I can't believe I'm sending an IOTD. Well, this shot was taken from my small 3D Pong game called, rather appropriately, "Pong on Steroids". I know there have been lots of people that have made these, but mine is more interesting. It has several different power-ups that you can catch with your "paddle" such as "The Wall", Laser, Resize,Crazy Ball,Super-speed, and Random Power-up. It uses OpenGL for graphics, OpenAL for sound, and HawkNL (the network library formerly known as OpenNL), so NO MICRO$OFT!!Heheheh. Well, tell me what you think. If you want the latest build for beta-testing and whatnot(as of Sept. 22nd it's build 302) you can tell me on the IOTD comment section, or just email me at teenytim@hotmail.com. Thanks for your help!

Well, the screenshot looks like it has potential for fun... why not put the build (preferrably with source) on Geocities or something so that people can actually download it? This is the sort of thing where a download is worth more than a thousand words.

OK.
I uploaded it to http://www.net4bay.com/pub/pongosd.zip, and it's a newer build. I decided to scrap the HawkNL code for now, just because I want to wait until the NLU comes out. OpenAL didn't want to work either, so I just used BASS.

Looks fun.
One cool feature you could add thats probably not been used yet is bumps and hills on the playfield.
Cooperative mode would be fun as well against "the big boss paddle"
and his fearsome army of paddles... or something ;)

But u know, youre not the first one to have made pong with powerups :P
