Hi!
anyone got an idea how to divide a 3d-world into convex sectors for portal-rendering in realtime?
currently I predefince all the sectors, the polygons, which sector a polygon belongs to and so on.
but the world is quite static like this...don't like this.

thnx,
Sengir

Ehm, recently there was a discussion on one of the forums
about doing this as a pre-processing step, and I believe the
outcome was that it is not possible to do, unless you are
willing to accept the heavily splitted portal sets that a
BSP compiler generates. So, doing it in realtime doesn't
seem to be a good idea.
You can very easily make a portal world look more dynamic,
by the way: You can move anything around as much as you
like, as long as the sectors don't become concave. :) This
effectively means that you can't move anything around. :))
Unless you design your world specifically for this kind
of dynamic behaviour.
