Hey all.

Are there any freeware terrain generation API? I'm working on a little hobby project that is going to require some procedural terrain generation. It would be much easier if there was something that already existed that I could leverage. I'm not looking for flora/fauna, etc. Just enough parameters that I can determine the kind of landscape I get. Output as a 3D mesh would be great, but a heightmap is fine as well. Texture blending would be nice, but I can do that myself as well. Let me know if you know of any such projects/apis

there is some opensource clone-thingie of terragen at sourceforge. rip from there or something...
