I added GL text to my heightmap engine... Now when I add any kind of lighting it makes the text blue?!? What could this be and how can it be avoided?

When i try and give the text a color using glColor3f() It makes the map, the color I chose! I want the text white!

Call glColor3f(1, 1, 1); glEnable(GL_LIGHTING); before drawing your map.
Call glColor3f(1, 1, 1); glDisable(GL_LIGHTING); before drawing your text.
