hi, everyone.
i want to make portal in D3DIM.
because, i have a plan to make game. tombraider like.

how can i make portal frustum in D3DIM.
and does portal need in d3d for speed up?
how about D3DRM?

help on the matter would be great appreciated.

I don't think that the fact that you use portals has anything to do with d3dIm.
Ofcourse it would be handy if direct3d already had such a feature (although the best fun would be lost that way) but you have to implement it for yourself. It isn't that hard however.

A couple of posts ago there was a thread called opengl portal engine (scroll down) the answers to that question aply to you a well, i think.

Just create some portalfrustum planes and clip against them in short (very short). Read the phantoms column about portals.
